(Guttenberg, NJ) Guttenberg Arts is pleased to announce Space in Time, a group exhibition featuring the works of current Summer 2025 artists-in-residence Sabrina Barrios, Talita do Nascimento Cabral, Doris Cacoilo, TEDF, K Sarrantonio and Olga Rogachevskaya-Chu. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, August 2 through Sunday, August 31, 2025. Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, August 2, from 7 PM to 9 PM. RSVP at guttenbergarts.org.

Sabrina Barrios creates immersive installations, videos, paintings, drawings, and sculptures that explore the intersections of technology, ancestry, and spiritual systems. Drawing from quantum physics, Afro-Brazilian traditions, and sacred geometry, her work imagines portals, networks, and trajectories that connect material and digital realities. Barrios introduces the concept of “techno-ancestry,” inviting viewers to inhabit the present with awareness of both their roots and potential futures.

Talita do Nascimento Cabral’s mixed media work reflects a deep reverence for memory, ecology, and transformation. Using salvaged textiles, garden-grown pigments, and recycled materials, she crafts layered compositions that echo cycles of growth and decay. Grounded in her immigrant journey and working-class heritage, her practice interrogates environmental waste and celebrates care, resilience, and the power of community through her work with the Upcycle Coalition.

Doris Cacoilo’s multidisciplinary practice explores systems of power, collaboration, and activism through sculpture, fiber arts, printmaking, digital media, and community-based performance. Her work incorporates toys, games, and humor to invite critical engagement around identity politics, feminism, and civic life. Cacoilo’s projects often blur the lines between studio practice, pedagogy, and social action, creating platforms for dialogue and representation within collective systems.

TEDF presents a series of visual adaptations from The Eerie Book, translating moments from classic supernatural fiction into images designed to evoke unease and discomfort. Through illustration and composition, TEDF experiments with the tension between storytelling and stillness, drawing on literary influence to investigate how static images can carry emotional and narrative weight.

K Sarrantonio’s screenprinted photo-based work examines domestic spaces through a queer lens. Printed on tiled grids with reflective surfaces and patterned ink, these large-scale pieces explore the relationship between visibility and privacy. By blending light, shadow, and layered perception, the work challenges viewers’ sense of foreground and background, offering glimpses into imagined and intimate moments of queer home life.

Olga Rogachevskaya-Chu is a Ukrainian-born artist whose practice is rooted in academic training and shaped by a lifelong dedication to learning and experimentation. Working primarily in printmaking, particularly linocut, she creates bold, tactile compositions that explore the human experience, identity, and fleeting moments in urban life. Drawing on her multicultural background and influenced by early exposure to cubism, Rogachevskaya-Chu’s work captures movement, impermanence, and connection. Her prints often reflect on shared spaces, such as her Brooklyn Central Library series on subway travelers, offering viewers opportunities for reflection and recognition.

Space in Time highlights the diverse and research-driven practices of Guttenberg Arts’ Summer 2025 artists-in-residence. The exhibition explores the intersections of identity, narrative, technology, and community, while celebrating innovation in contemporary art making.
