ABOUT our Residency
Everyone at Guttenberg Arts understands the financial difficulty facing artists of all levels and seeks to support their creative endeavors at our studio with the space and time artist residency (STAR) program.
STAR provides artists with stipends to cover materials, travel and access to a professionally equipped workspace for the visual arts including printmaking and ceramics. Artists work is supported with a group show at the end of the residency and three studio visits with arts professionals. Each artist will present a public lecture on their work or conduct a free public workshop towards the close of their three month residency.
Increasing an artist’s community is the first step toward a sustainable career in the arts. Guttenberg Arts promotes each STAR fellow in print and on the web, through exhibitions and art fairs.
STAR artists are selected by a blind jury of arts professionals on the merits of their work. Guttenberg Arts does not provide housing

3 Months of shared studio access at the bulls ferry studio (open 24 hrs, 7 days per week)
Public artist talk or workshop, group show and open studio event
Publicity in print and web-based media
$600 Stipend provided by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation
Key Holder Opportunity includes everything except stipend
