Participants will reuse second hand garments and textiles and learn how to use the sewing machine.
Upcycle coalition is an intrinsic workshop that meets once a month with the focus of bringing awareness to circularity in fashion. As the meetings progress, students will be exposed to natural dye workshops, printmaking techniques, garment construction and the building of a creative, collaborative community.

Talita do Nascimento Cabral is a brazilian interdisciplinary artist, designer and educator based in Jersey City since 2016. She explores the intersection of nature, memory, and materiality through the use of natural dyes, pigments, textiles, organic and found materials. In addition to her artistic practice, Talita is the founder of Upcycle Coalition. Through this project, she leads workshops on sewing, natural dyes and upcycling, encouraging participants to engage in sustainable practices and rethink their relationship with clothing and materials.
