Guttenberg Arts is a 4,500 square foot facility equipped for printmaking and ceramics with common areas for painting, drawing and sculpture. Designated individual work tables, supply storage and flat file drawers are available for rental. For a breakdown of our ceramics facilities and rates, please scroll down. Guttenberg Arts is ADA accessible, climate controlled and wi-fi equipped. (Please Note: Space & Time Artist in Residence do not pay facilities fees during the length of their residency).

A GUTTENBERG ARTS MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BOOK HOURS AT THE STUDIO.

Ceramic Firing Charges
We charge $0.06 per cubic inch for low fire (cone 04) bisque work and high fire (cone 5) glaze work.
All our kilns can be rented out at a special rate. There is a $10 loading fee with each firing, which is included in the price below.
Small SKUTT Kiln: $75.00
Medium SKUTT Kiln: $120.00
Large Olympic Kiln: $175.00
TOOLS:
We have a variety of tools available to renters including: Potter's Needles, Cut-off Wires, Fettling Knives, Ribs, Scrappers, Loop, Wire and Ribbon Tools, Wooden Modeling Tools.
SUPPLIES:
We offer Speedball, Amaco, and Mayco mid-fire cone 5/6 glazes in a variety of colors as well as low to mid range clay bodies in a variety of colors. Prices may vary between $25 to $45 per 50 lb. box.

Firing Slips are located in the ceramic room on the firing shelves.
When filling out FIRING SLIP please add an additional 2 inches to the height of your work to account for shelf clearance
COVID 19 Protocols & studio Rules
For everyone’s safety and health please read the following new protocols and studio rules prior to scheduling your studio time.
Masks are required when more than 1 person is working in the studio. Please note we will not provide face masks.
You must sign the Pledge of Personal Responsibility when entering the studio (they will be found at the entrance).
Hand sanitizer will be provided for everyone's use and can be found on both sides of each doorway.
All artists must clean/sanitize all surfaces that were used prior to leaving (alcohol is provided in the yellow fireproof cabinet).
Please only use the front door for entering Guttenberg Arts and the yard (rear) door for exiting when you are not alone in the studio
Gloves are optional but also no longer provided by the studio.
Bathroom fan/light should remain on when people are working in the studio to ensure the room is ventilated
3-6 people at a time including Staff (1 person at a time in the ceramic studio).
Absolutely no pop-ins, a minimum of 48 hr notice is required.
Ceramic Firings will include a 2 day in studio quarantine of the object, artists must schedule drop offs 48 hours in advance
Please keep windows open when possible.
